We're always looking for ways to improve on our service. We pride ourselves on our ability to:
- Keep client/team communication consistant and effective.
- Manage deadlines and expectations with great care.
- Address the client's concerns immediately.
Our clients and partners always have a direct line in with our Principle, Todd Simmons, and work closely with our Senior Project Manager, Terry Christensen.
The team at Simmons lives by the mantra that the "sales cycle" never ends. It is nurtured non-stop. Who can afford not to work with this mindset in an industry in which performance is constantly being scrutinized? We stay with our client throughout the relationship, one that hopefully has no end, right?
I would like to ask the folks in the development industry, "What is your current image of the construction team you currently deal with? What would you change and what do you expect?"
Posts can be anonymous, as it's more important for us at Simmons Construction to hear what people in our industry think. Thanks for blogging with Simmons! www.simmonscc.com

How much control would you really have on the project? Is it realistic to think that this Business Development Person can hold the construction company to deadlines. But your thinking is correct in theory, as a developer I know this may not be realistic.
You are on the right track, developing the relationship for the business development person is crucial and client/contractor communication is vital.

Thanks for the feedback!
We all know that construction is an animal not easily tamed and that GC’s, often times, use the same pool of subcontractors. The only differentiator in our business is how we manage to our client’s expectations and our reaction time when something goes sideways.
Although we can’t expect perfection in a project, we CAN strive for perfection in how we manage each situation.
Great things are happing for the "Client Advocate" (aka: Business Development)role at Simmons Construction Company www.simmonscc.com! By functioning as a cohesive team: Client or Potential Client, Principle, Project Manager, Business Development Rep and keeping team communication as a top priority, deliverables and expectations are being met!! Communication is key!
Briget,
Glad to see you are embarking on the blog as an organizational tool for your construction company. I think its part of the future along with wikis they will form the future for organizational knowledge sharing (KS).
Do you know of any other construction KS blogs or wikis.
Way to take the future by the horns and reinvent it.
Thom
Do you send out progress reports to your clients?
